End of Week Review 03/20

It’s been a busy week of games for all ages in Leicester and London as there was points for grabs, development games and showcase games all going on.

The week started off with a huge game in the ECFA CAT 1 league for the boys in Leicester as they took on Brook house College in a top of the table clash. It was all to play for as whoever won this game would more than likely go on to win the league. It was a thrilling game with end to end action but it was our scholars who came out victorious as the game finished 3-2 in our favour. The players now know that taking just 1 point from their final 2 games will be enough to be crowned CAT 1 champions for the very first time.

Both sites then had games on Wednesday as the London boys were in action in the CAT 1 & 2 and the Leicester boys were in CAT 2 action. Both CAT 2 teams came out as worthy winners as the London boys beat EDSV Academy 7-1 and the Leicester boys beat Corby Town 2-1. Special mention to Kyle Scott who grabbed himself a first half hat trick in London. Both of these teams and now set top of their leagues and are in great shape to bring home more trophies this season.

----------------

In the London CAT 1 our boys were up against an unbeaten Reading who are pushing themselves to win the title this season. It was a dominant start for our boys but at half time found themselves 1-0 down. Early in the second half Joel Fagan slammer home a neat cross as the score was level at 1-1. Our boys pushed for the winner but just couldn’t find it as the whistle brought home a valuable point.

----------------

Our Leicester Elite centre was in action this week as we hosted teams from East Goscote Juniors and Ashfordby Predators and our London elite centre was prepping for upcoming games. Our London U16s were also in action this week with a very tough showcase game vs Charlton Athletic on Wednesday evening. We await feedback from the academy to see if there was any interest in our boys. Unfortunately due to the transfer window, our U12/13’s game was cancelled on Thursday night and will now be rescheduled.

----------------

Off the pitch there is plenty going on as we plan for more upcoming showcase games and trials. This week seen the launch of our brand new FSA PRO Girls team to start in September 2020 and trials are already proving to be popular.

Keep your eye on our social media channels for more information and what’s coming up as we enter a bust few weeks of games for all ages.

Have a great weekend,
