FSA beat A2B 5-1 in a top of the table clash.
It was a windy afternoon at Aylestone Park FC and it set up a tough game for our PRO squad, but they stood up to the challenge and sent A2B home with 0 points. It was a frantic start to the game and had a very nervous feel, however it was a fantastic ball over the top that Cory Holdom chased down the line and squared the ball to Theo Sjoberg who tapped home to make it 1-0. FSA stayed on top and quickly made it 2-0 through that man again Theo Sjoberg, but A2B didn’t go away, and they won a penalty on the 30 minute mark, but Kye Simons stood tall and saved from the spot, however the resulting corner FSA failed to defend and A2B got back into the game. 2-1 at half time.
FSA made a couple of tactical changes at half time, one being defending more compact and narrow showing A2B out wide. This helped FSA win possession back in the midfield third and kept us on the front foot, and it was through Theo Sjobergs hat trick that FSA restored there 2 goal lead. FSA then controlled the game and Theo Sjoberg got his fourth when he went through 1 on 1 with the goal keeper. 4-1. FSA then kept good possession of the ball and moved A2B around the pitch, it was then Cory Holdom who got in on the act and made it 5-1 to FSA.
It was a fantastic afternoon for our PRO squad, as they come out on top in a big top of the table clash.
