FSA PRO - Brookhouse College, ECFA MKT Trophy

Updated: Aug 1, 2019

FSA PRO progress to the last 16 of the Cup!

It was a fantastic afternoon for our PRO boys as they ran out 4-1 winners against a very strong Brookhouse College team in the last 32 of the Mens Knockout Trophy.

The instruction from the start was to go out on the front foot and take the game to our opponents and that is exactly what we did, and within 3 minutes we took an early lead through an excellent finish from Cory Holdom, who superbly controlled a cross filed ball from Jovan Singh, and slotted home into the bottom corner.

FSA continued to push forward and a second goal was added by Theo Sjoberg, latching onto the end of a Jackson Parkin cross into the box. FSA could then have been awarded a penalty by the referee but it was waved away, that was until Jackson Parkin went through again and this time the referee had no choice but to award the penalty, which was calmly dispatched by Riley Davoile.

However Brookhouse didn’t give up and they managed to snatch a goal back just before half time after some disappointing defending from our PRO boys. This didn’t dishearten the lads and they managed to win another penalty before the half time whistle blew, however this time we didn’t dispatch it after a fantastic save from the Brookhouse keeper, this was one of many he pulled of today.

The second half was much the same, it was wave after wave of FSA attack but once again the Brookhouse keeper stood tall and kept the deficit to just two goals. Kye Simons was then pulled into action, after Brookhouse had a free kick on the edge of our 18 yard box, this was met by a fantastic fingertip save from our goal keeper. FSA continued to push and 10 minutes from the end Fidele Kassindi was able to get onto the end of a Riley Davoile cross and this sealed the game for the boys.

We look forward to the last 16 of the cup.

Final Score: 1-4
