FSA Pro welcomed Colorado Edge to Aylestone Park FC this week, for a showcase game against the American side. It was a tightly fought contest with chance both ways but in the end FSA Pro came out 4-2 winners.
In the first half FSA managed to do something they haven’t managed recently and that was to get an early goal to settle nerves on the pitch, they went 1-0 up courtesy of a Shamir Ali penalty, after Jackson Parkin was brought down by the Colorado goalkeeper. The game then was end to end with both teams having chances to get the next goal, however it was FSA who managed to get it through Jackson Parkin, and that was closely followed by 2 more. John Meadows made a fantastic double save right on the stroke of half time and FSA went in 4-0 up.
The second half was much the same, end to end and some fantastic attacking play by both teams, and it was Colorado who managed to mark FSA’s clean sheet 10 minutes into the second half, this was closely followed by another. FSA had to show good character to come back and take control of the game once again, and on the 60 minute mark they had a shot cleared superbly of the line. FSA then controlled the remainder of the game with some good possession, and where able to see out the game with no further chances conceded.
Overall it was a good performance from FSA, with a 10 minute blip after half time, they where able to finish the game strong and set us up nicely for our Home ECFA Cup match this Friday against FCV Stamford International.
Final score: 4-2
