FSA PRO progress to the Quarter Finals of the National Cup!
The Football College of Manchester visited us in the last 16 of the National Cup, FSA knew it would be a tough physical game however they more than match the visitors for work rate, application and desire, and most importantly there quality on the ball came through to prove just how much this squad is developing.
For the first quarter of the game it was evenly matched and no real chances falling to either side, however on the 20 minute mark a fantastic ball played over the top by Harry Lloyd - Rawson was met by a fantastic finish from Theo Sjoberg (1st of 3 goals). FSA then controlled the game until the half time whistle blew (potentially should of added to there tally), keeping the ball really well and moving there opponents around the pitch.
Much the same was needed in the second half, and that is exactly what FSA delivered.
Again from the out set FSA controlled the game, both on and off the ball, FCM had some good spells of possession however FSA kept good defensive shape and didn’t allow them through and kept them with there backs to goal. Then on the 60 minute mark, Theo Sjoberg doubled his tally with a reaction finish of his head. 2-0. FSA then took back the rains and controlled the game with the ball, and it wasn’t long after a superb cross field ball found Cory Holdom who put Theo Sjobergs Hat Trick goal on a plate for him. 3-0 and the game was won, all FSA needed to do was see the game out. They did that with great professionalism and control and fully deserve to go through to the Last 8! We await the draw for the next round, the tie is to be played on the 13th March.
Final Score: 3-0
Man of the Match – Theo Sjoberg
