FSA PRO London Make It Back To Back National Finals

FSA Pro London took on i2i Soccer Academy in the ECFA National Semi final, looking to make history by reaching the National final and defending their crown.

FSA PRO were drawn at home and the crowds gathered in the capital as the game kicked off with a high intensity. It was the home team that immediately showed the desire and hunger to win the game by hunting the ball down and pressing the opponents deep in their half, forcing mistakes and causing frustration. i2i were resilient however, as they fought back physically and looked to counter FSA PRO. After a few heavy challenges the game was heating up and bringing the best out of both teams. It was FSA PRO who created the first clear cut chance a well worked passage of play allowed a ball to be delivered, Akyeampong getting to the ball in front of the defenders only to rattle the cross bar. i2i didn’t take heed of this warning and within minutes Akyeampong had opened the scoring after getting on the end of a flicked on header by Hughes and rocketing the ball from 20 yards out into the net. FSA PRO then smelt blood as on the stroke of half time managed to double their lead. Captain Evan Kelly rising highest to win the header and fire it into the top corner. Taking the score to 2-0 to the home team at half time.

With 45 minutes to save the game i2i returned to the pitch with a huge task. FSA PRO managed the game and made it difficult for the away team to create anything meaningful. The majority of the play was at the other end where FSA PRO were looking to increase their lead. Chances fell to Sisarello, Mingle and Hassan however i2i’s goalkeeper pulled out world class saves to keep his team in the fixture. As the game went on FSA PRO crept closer to success and in the last minute cemented it after Mark Soares’ dizzying run beat three players and slotted the ball into the bottom corner in the 90th minute of the game to send FSA PRO London into the National Final
