A very entertaining game played out by both teams, there was chances either end, but it finished in a 1 - 1 draw. FSA started on top pressing high up the pitch and not allowing Mansfield to play out from the back, as the game went on Mansfield turned the tied and starting to have some good possession, forcing two great saves from our goal keeper Kye Simons. However in the last 10 minutes of the half FSA gained momentum and started to have some good possession themselves, creating a number of chances and hitting the post late on in the half.
In the second half it was much the same from FSA they played some fantastic football and limited Mansfield's time on the ball, however Mansfield caught FSA on the break and where awarded a penalty 10 minutes into the half. However the penalty was matched by a great save from Kye Simons, this gave FSA even more belief and they continued to push forward looking dangerous every time they attacked. Wave after wave of attacks and some fantastic goalkeeping by the Mansfield number 1, FSA where again caught by a long ball and this time the Mansfield number 9 slotted home.
FSA showed fantastic courage, and it didn’t stop them from believing and were then awarded a penalty themselves, which Bakery Mass calmly slotted home. If it wasn’t for some fine keeping by the Mansfield goalkeeper, FSA would have gone onto win the game. All in all it was a great game played by both teams, and we look forward to welcoming Mansfield to Aylestone Park in the new year.
Final score: 1-1
