FSA PRO vs Loughborough College 5-2 (Cat. 1)

Updated: Oct 3, 2019

FSA continue winning start v Loughborough College

FSA started on the front foot with some excellent possession throughout the opening 20 mins. With Loughborough sitting deep and defending well early on, FSA had to wait until the 25th minute to break through after a long pass from GK Ethan Dawe found Cory Holdom through on goal who was too quick for the Loughborough defence to finish calmly from just inside the area.

Confidence was high after the goal and it wasn’t long to wait until the next one after a cross from Cory found Jackson Parkin timing his run well into the box to finish with his head from close range.

FSA continued to press forward, and were awarded a free kick on the edge of the area, which Riley Davoile converted into the bottom corner from 20 yards (video below). 3 - 0.

The move of the match created the 4th goal after some excellent link up play down the right, Cory provided an inch perfect cross for James March to convert from inside the 6 yard box.

At half time the game looked to be comfortable for FSA but Loughborough came back out battling putting FSA under more pressure on the ball. The pressure was rewarded after 2 quick goals allowing Loughborough back into the game. FSA had to get back to what they did so well in the first half, and move the ball at a quick tempo through the thirds disorganizing the Loughborough defense.

That is exactly what they did and FSA responded with a goal from Beck-Ray after an excellent through ball from Harry Lloyd-Rawson, he went through to beat a defender and slot the ball into the bottom corner.

The game finished 5-2 with FSA continuing the winning start to the season, however lessons must be learnt in terms of our game management and not allowing teams back into the game.

Man of the match: James March & Cory Holdom
