A lot of great developments have taken place for Fox Soccer Academy this week. Here is a brief review about what happened.
FSA PRO Games
It was a busy week with many games for our scholars, our first being a showcase game against Championship side Luton Town FC where a mixed squad from London and Leicester were selected to take on the opportunity. First year scholar Dominic Fisher managed to score four goals in a 6-1 win. (Read More)
Our game for the London scholars against Onslow Academy was equally as successful where another hat-trick, this time completed by Marcus Anwar, was the highlight of a dominant performance as FSA went on to win 9-1.
The games came thick and fast, our CAT 2 Leicester players travelled to Rugby Town in what was a great test and helped us prepare for the upcoming summer series. The same afternoon our FSA PRO Girls team made history by securing their first ever win by beating Tresham College 9-1, the girls where brilliant and they are looking forward to competitive games over the next few weeks.
Thursday brought around another game as we took on local rivals South Leicester College, our boys came away 2-1 winners, in what was a tight and competitive game.
Education
London: In class the scholars have started their new of units work. The first years have begun looking into sports injuries and how to prevent and recover from them. The second years have set about working on sports nutrition, developing a greater understanding of what it is required to fuel an athlete’s body correctly.
Leicester: Our FSA PRO team have also been busy in the classroom this week moving onto the final stage of their NCFE Level 3 Extended Diploma, and those that needed to sat their mock exams for GCSE Maths.
The attitude and dedication our scholars are showing is great to see, and we can't wait to create more experiences with them in the very near future to rewarded them for their hard work.
Elite Centre
This week we welcomed the Elite Centres back for their second week of training after the Easter break. This term we have been expanding their strength and conditioning capabilities, whilst working on attacking and defending in the final third. We also welcomed our U16s to train with us on Thursday as they prepare to take on Southampton next week.
Monday night saw over 60 young footballers attend our Elite Centre in Leicester, one of the players has just been offered a trial at Leicester City. Malachi who is a U13 striker caught the eye of Leicester City FC whilst playing for Aylestone Park last weekend. We wish Malachi the best of luck and we look forwarded to seeing how he gets on.
