On Saturday 6th June, football fans across the world will come together at the exact same time for one huge global world record attempt, all centred around one simple challenge - keeping a football in the air for 10 seconds.
The event forms part of the “Where Football Lives” campaign, a worldwide initiative designed to celebrate the game while also raising awareness around the growing impact extreme weather is having on grassroots football and the places where the game is played every day.
From local parks and cages to grassroots pitches and stadiums, football is played everywhere. However, increasing temperatures, flooding, poor weather conditions, and damage to facilities are creating more challenges for communities and young players to access the game regularly. This event is designed to bring people together through football while supporting projects that help protect grassroots football facilities for future generations.
Fox Soccer Academy will officially be hosting events in both London and Leicester, giving players, families, and football fans the opportunity to take part in a worldwide football moment alongside participants from across the globe. The current world record stands at 459 participants, with organisers aiming to bring together thousands of people internationally as part of this year’s attempt.
Our events will include a warm-up session, football activities, and a small tournament before the official attempt takes place. Every participant will also receive an official participation certificate to mark the occasion.
All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting the Foxes Sport Foundation and grassroots football initiatives.
