Lincoln City - FSA PRO 0-6 (Cat. 1)

Our CAT 1 side travelled to Lincoln City in their third league encounter of the season, with a changed squad because of injuries to Riley Davoile, Cory Holdom and Yaro Phillips, the boys knew that hard work and application would win them the game.

The first half started at a good tempo with both teams pushing hard for the opening goal, FSA controlled the majority of possession however Lincoln looked comfortable on the ball and on the counter attack. FSA created the first chance from a corner as Lewis White rose the highest to head goal wards, however it only found the goalkeepers gloves. As the game settled down FSA took control and started moving the ball really well from side to side and created a number of chances, and it was the captain Jake Wormleighton who broke the dead lock after a fantastic cross by Fidele Kassindi, Wormleighton brought the ball down with his chest and half volleyed the ball into the back of the net. 1-0 FSA. Towards the end of the first half FSA goalkeeper Ethan Dawe was called into action, after a Lincoln counter attack, however FSA took a 1-0 lead into the half time break.

FSA had controlled the majority of possession in the first half, we just needed to be more clinical in front of goal, and that is exactly what happened in the second half.

FSA took control of the ball from the outset, and put Lincoln onto the back foot, on the 50 minute mark FSA got their second through Beck - Ray after some fantastic play by Szymon Donnerstag, he cut the ball back for Beck - Ray to slot home on the volley. Lincoln frustrations then started to show as their number 10 got sin binned for descent, which FSA capitalised on and it was soon 3-0 as James March picked the ball up inside the Lincoln box turned the defender and slotted home with his left foot.

Harry Smith then got into the act after a fantastic cross by Lewis White, he converted with his head to make it 4-0. FSA continued to push on the front and to carry out instruction we had worked on during the week, Beck - Ray then added to his tally by getting on to the end of an Ethan Dawe goal kick, and it was Szymon Donnerstag who capitalised on a mistake from the Lincoln GK to make it 6-0.

Overall it was a pleasing performance for the CAT 1 side, one that we had worked hard for during the week, we look to continue our good form in our next league fixture Vs Tresham College.
