The Birth Of FSA PRO Legacy

FSA PRO LEGACY has been created to continue supporting players that have finished their time at Fox Soccer Academy.

The idea was launched in 2023 by our program director Mark Smith who decided to continue helping players reach their goals who in return have given our academy everything over previous seasons.

The team was selected to travel down to Newport, Wales and take on a select XI of League Two outfit Newport County. The 'exiles' as they are known, currently sit 15th in League Two and agreed to take on FSA PRO LEGACY to help support their players with some needed competitive minutes. Newport posted a strong starting team with seven players currently competing in first team action, but it was FSA who started the stronger with some early opening chances in the game, both teams looked comfortable in possession and the game played at a fantastic pace. Newport took control as the game edge towards half-time and took a deserved lead from an inswinging corner that FSA failed to clear and the opening goal was smashed home with minutes left on the clock.

FSA PRO started the second half strong and was denied an early equaliser as Jake Wormleighton got on the end of a corner, but was denied by the County goalkeeper. Both teams made a change in shape and the final minutes of the game was end to end with both teams feeling they could get the second goal. Some late chances for George Hughes and Miller Mcdonald failed to find the net and the game finished 1-0 to the home team.

After the game we caught up with FSA PRO

Legacy manager, Mark Smith

"I was happy with the performance and the attitude the players gave during the game. We have had limited minutes with these players as obviously they are now playing their football elsewhere in different leagues around the country, but I know a lot of these boys well and continue to watch them week in week out. They took on some clear instructions before the game and stuck to the game plan. It's a shame we couldn’t take some of the chances created but It’s great to see this team come back together and I'm proud we can keep giving chances for all ex-players of Fox Soccer Academy"

FSA PRO Legacy will be back in action soon, for more information, keep following our social channels.
