Clean Sheet for FSA PRO Cat. 2 London Team on Opening Day

It was the league opener for our Cat 2 squad looked to get their campaign underway.

Todays fixture against familiar opponents ‘Next Generation pro’ was going to be a good test as our Cat 2 squad started their first league game. A confident start saw FSA spend a lot of time in the opposition half controlling possession and creating chances. Our first real attempt was a free kick from Cameron Ashia his free kick narrowly missing the bottom corner. That wasn’t to be our only attempt early in the game as Next Gen kept giving away free kicks in dangerous areas unfortunately FSA’s delivery left the goal keeper untroubled. Our first goal scored by Kenny Miller was a cross played from the right hand side where left winger Kenny Miller headed into the empty net.

The goal looked to inspire FSA as another flurry of attacks saw us come close to scoring another. The second goal wouldn’t come just yet for FSA however, as Next Generation managed to create a chance playing the ball through our defence with their striker coming close but the ball ending up in the FSA goal keepers hands. FSA continued to push on and managed to score their second on the 38th minute, Striker Dom Fisher slots away a penalty sending the goalkeeper the wrong way. A 2-0 lead heading into the half time was secured when Thierri Manley stepped up by saving a penalty down to his left denying the Next Gen captain.

The second half started very much like the first FSA started very strong almost creating a chance straight from kick off. It took FSA 15 minutes to find our third and again it was Striker Dom Fisher assisted by other goalscorer Kenny Miller who played Fisher through for a 1v1 finish to get our third and final goal of the game. That was not the end of the action though as Next Gen had another penalty awarded to them. Again FSA goalkeeper Thierri Manley managed to read the penalty take making a fantastic save, this time to his right, keeping his clean sheet intact. The rest of the game was controlled by FSA keeping possession and watching the game out. A professional display saw FSA Londons Cat 2 squad get their first 3 points on the table.
