FSA PRO London Dominate Cat 1 Opener

Four new faces help the National Champions start the ECFA CAT 1 league where they left off last season!

Early goals from Eniola Hassan and Lee Quincey saw FSA PRO London continue their brilliant preseason form by taking all three points in the first league fixture of the campaign. A tough outfit to come as they next face FAB away but with the boy's spirits through the roof it’s going to take something special to cause an upset. With showcase games looming, the squad eager to impress, it’s competitive as ever to be the in the 16-man squad.

The trip to Brighton started in the best way possible, an early press from the front saw Eniola steal the ball off the opposition keeper to draw first blood in the first minute. It wasn’t long after Charlie Sisarello trickling his way around the edge of the box to win a dangerous free kick which was perfectly converted by Lee Quincey! A couple of good spells for the home side as they looked to break forward, but FSA stood firm and continued to play with a high level of concentration. Sixteen minutes on the clock Seb Myllie added to the lead with a right footed shot into the bottom left corner from 25 yards out (3-0).

As half time approached there wasn’t much to change for the Champions who were in full control of the game. A controversial offside saw George Hughes’ name on the scoresheet chalked off but it was all smiles at the break. No changes after 45 minutes and it wasn’t needed! Another rapid goal from kick off and again from Eniola Hassan. Denzel Akyeampong’s long throw sent Hassan racing down the wing, cutting inside the box before firing a lethal strike across the keeper, 4-0! Two goals in the first minute of each half for Hassan, must be a sign?

Charlie Sisarello seemed to be confused at times what he signed up for as he spent a large amount of the game on the floor. With the home side building up some frustration it was important the champions kept their professionalism. Number 5 was around the corner when a clever pass by Frecks was run onto by Nathan who calming took the ball around the keeper. Another league debut goal. That wasn’t the end of the debut goals when first year Shae came on to play in his first CAT 1 game of the season. Looking sharp and lively it was obvious he could see a wounded defence in the Newman College side. 71’ minutes on the clock and some patient play by FSA as the ball was worked out wide and into Nathan Freckleton who found debutant Shae Cooper who Calm, composed, fired home the sixth!
