FSA PRO London win to go 7 games unbeaten in the ECFA Cat 2 league through a clinical display in front of goal against Aveley FC.
A tricky away trip to Aveley FC was on our hands as FSA set off to make it 2 wins in 2 days in the Cat 2 League. FSA PRO started rather slow against their high pressing opponents and couldn’t create many clear cut chances. FSA PRO’s defence were tested against the two Aveley strikers with a couple of long balls in behind. The centre back partnership of Redor Omar & Alex Whitter supplied FSA with calmness and security. It took FSA PRO London 10 minutes to create their first chance when a dangerous cross was whipped into the box from Marcus Anwar. This caused panic to Aveley’s back line as their defender miss kicked the clearance into his own net 1-0.
The score line was doubled out of nothing when a 50 yard ball was arrowed over the heads of the Aveley’s defence to Kenny Bellamingle. The on rushing keeper miss judging the ball saw Kenny Bellamingle score the easiest goal of his FSA Pro career. Fantastic vision and awareness by Lee Quincey to pick the pass 2-0! A couple of scrappy moments and lack of concentration in FSA’s defensive third invited pressure to our goal. A central free kick was clipped into the box and converted by the Aveley midfielder 35 minutes on the clock to make it 2-1.
The game was headed to bed in the second half with a well timed run to the front post by Joao Paulo. A second assist for Lee Quincey in the game extended his tally to 5 assists in the ECFA Cat 2 league. Crucial saves by the FSA PRO keeper late on ‘James Padgett’ blocking all hope in a comeback for Aveley. Aveley continued to push until the end but a stubborn FSA side stood firm to see out the game to claim all 3 points.
