CAT 2 Through After Impressive Win

It’s back to winning ways for FSA London’s Cat 2 side in the ECFA Men’s Trophy. After a frustrating 1-1 draw in the league last week the boys were fired up to push onto the next round of the cup.

The warmup reflected our start in the game. FSA started with great intensity and purpose to move the ball into areas of threat. A well-deserved goal was taken 11 minutes in as George Hughes got on the end of Kaliam Safou’s clever pass, 1-0 and up and running! It was clear FSA wanted a second goal as they continued to show their dominance with huge amounts of possession. A couple of half chances came our way and a superb one on one save from the BHHP keeper kept the score 1-0. Shortly after FSA won a free kick on the right-hand side of the box after good footwork from Jaoa Lima. George Hughes took responsibility and whipped the ball into the top right corner 2-0!

Second half underway and there wasn’t much to say at half time. Pressure was mounting on BHHP as they looked to remain in the game. A ball forward caught FSA out slightly and a clumsy foul in the penalty area gave the opposition some hope, 2-1 from the penalty spot as the penalty taker sent FSA’s keeper the wrong way. It didn’t faze FSA London as they continued to control the game and remain patient. 60 minutes on the clock and Soulemane Ba picks up the ball and splits the BHHP midfield in half before passing the ball to Kaliam. Composure from Kaliam as he placed the ball near post one on one with the keeper! FSA 3-1 BHHP.

The third and final goal was enough to see out the game and put FSA London’s cat 2 squad into the next round of the ECFA Men’s Trophy.
