FSA PRO London, representing Tooting Bec FC, stormed through to the Second Round Qualifying of the FA Youth Cup with an emphatic 6-0 victory over Haywards Heath FC.
Coming off a 2-0 win against Eastbourne Town in the Preliminary Round, FSA entered this fixture brimming with confidence and wasted no time stamping their authority on the match. The opening stages were dominated by FSA's pressing and fluid attacking play. It only took 6 minutes for FSA to open the scoring, as Jayden Alleyne’s quick interception and pass found Sean Michael in space. From 20 yards out, Michael unleashed a powerful strike that soared past the Haywards Heath goalkeeper to make it 1-0.
Just seven minutes later, Danis Devanand doubled FSA's lead with a composed chip over the keeper following some excellent team build-up. Devanand wasn't done yet, and in the 25th minute, he added his second of the night after aggressive pressing from FSA led to a cut-back ball, which the forward dispatched with authority, striking the post and nestling into the net. The relentless pressure from FSA saw them control the remainder of the half, with Haywards Heath struggling to gain a foothold in the game.
The second half saw more of the same from FSA as they continued to exploit the tired Haywards Heath defence. In the 63rd minute, some silky interplay allowed Mohamed Benzahi to burst through on goal, and with calm precision, he slotted the ball into the bottom right corner, making it 4-0.
FSA's dominance was personified by Devanand, who completed his hat-trick in style in the 75th minute. After winning the ball high up the pitch once again, Devanand danced his way past a defender with a dazzling piece of dribbling before curling the ball into the top right corner, sealing what could easily be a contender for Goal of the Month.
With the game all but over, FSA continued to pour forward. Substitute Miller McDonald, passed fit after a late fitness test, added a sixth in the 79th minute. After Jed Forster’s brilliant work down the wing, McDonald weaved through a weary defence, saw his initial shot saved, but pounced on the rebound to score through a crowded penalty area.
It was a flawless performance by Fox Soccer Academy, with standout performances from Devanand and Benzahi. FSA’s high press, quick ball recovery, and clinical finishing were too much for Haywards Heath to handle. The young side now eagerly awaits the FA Youth Cup Second Round Qualifying draw, which will take place this Friday.
