Fox Soccer Academy suffered their first defeat of the season away at Future Pro but remain top of the league.
In a tight, scrappy game, the first goal was always going to be crucial. After early missed opportunities for Harrison Boot and Aidan Neale, Future Pro took the lead with an excellent unopposed header.
Future Pro continued to cause problems with deep crosses, while both sides created half-chances throughout the first period. Just before half-time, more poor defending from FSA saw two players beaten, and an unlucky deflection wrong-footed the goalkeeper to make it 2–0.
Half-time: Future Pro Academy 2-0 FSA PRO Leicester
FSA started the second half brightly and should have pulled one back when a deflected free-kick looked destined for the net, only for an FSA player to accidentally divert it into the goalkeeper’s arms on the line.
The second half remained evenly contested, but Future Pro added a third after another lapse in marking put the game out of sight.
A fourth goal in the closing stages, following a defensive mistake, sealed a 4–0 defeat and handed FSA their first loss of the season.
Despite edging the game in goal attempts and possession being relatively even, FSA will know their defending must improve in future matches in what is shaping up to be a very competitive league.
